.::.A Bit About Me.::.
.::..::. Known for her bold design work, Mary Beth Halsey has been recognized as innovative, and fresh in her approaches to developing fine jewelry as well as her sculpture, paper collages and paintings. She is a two time Best in show winner at the Dog Fanciers annual competition with her sculpture, as well as a First Place winner in the jewelry category several times at the Art Show at the Dog Show. She has exhibited in both The American Academy of Equine Art and The Society of Animal Artists annual juried Exhibitions. Mary Beth’s work is in major collections around the world including David Murdoch, Imperial Arabians, Sheik Abdullah Aziz al Thani, and Count Federico Zchichy Thyssen. Her knowledge of the horse has been gained through her experience in the Thoroughbred nurseries of Kentucky as well as managing an Arabian farm, Ginger Blue Arabians, in California. This understanding has enabled her to develop her unique style of abstraction blended with extreme, correct, realism. Her understanding and love of the Saluki as well as her attention to anatomy and structure allows her Canine work to shine both artistically and technically. After leaving Lexington Mary Beth went to work in a Bronze foundry and with a bench jeweler. This has allowed her to thoroughly understand her media and thereby push the limits of the various metals. All jewelry finishing is done by Mary Beth at her bench, which allows personal attention to the detail of each piece. Her work is not mass- produced, which insures the quality of each piece. In addition, most major pieces are small limited editions, which preserves the unique aspect of each piece. Mary Beth is perhaps at her best when capturing that unique moment that sets each individual apart in her commission work. These are bold statements, capturing the essence of the subject whether in 18k gold, Bronze or on paper.
